Title:
ask about swf protector against swf decompiler
hi all, i'm new here..
i want to ask question about swf protector against swf decompiler.
i saw so many protector using obfuscator, encryption like that..
i want to use FMS (flash media server) that will invoke callback function..
i'm afraid using encryption, will not detect the name of the function
my question is :
is there any other solution except using obfuscator to handle decompiler?
thanks before..

there is no 100% safe solution to protect swf code. We can only make it difficult to decompile the code. Actionscript runs on client side inside a standard flash player so its technically impossible to device a way to protect the code completely. Flash player has to read the actionscript which should be in a standard format unless it wont work. There are many tools available on the web that can alter the functions and variables in such a way that decompiler fails to decompile code thus making it safe to some extent. To my knowledge the question to your answer is NO.

thanks bob for the answer,
after searching many methods, i've found software like swf's "shell"..
have you ever heard it?
The software don't change the name of the function. It's like a wrapper, it encrypts the original SWF file, and embeds it to a "shell" Flash file.
do you have any suggestion?

I am using dcomsoft's swf protector for all my artworks. It is a very reliable program. You can test this program. here www.dcomsoft.com
