Title: replacement by jre to jdk


can i replace the jdk by jre in red 5 applications, since otherwise I have JRE 6 installed in my system should I install also JDK

You can run the RED5 server with JRE but you may require JDK for development of java classes that can be used with RED5.

RED5 can be very well integrated with java, so to develop server side use JAVA . There is no harm in installing JDK. You can use leave installing JDK if no server is required.

I use Red 5 only to record video from my webcam, to ensure that I use Flex Builder 3

JDK is not required , JRE should work for your case .
