Title: Sending sms
Hello everyone
someone has an idea how from an application rich developed in Flex Builder 3 send an sms to a specific number.

you cannot send SMS from flex itself , but you can provide the interface to write and edit the sms, after that in send sms button you can call an HTTPservice or WEBservice which can send the sms. The server side service will be using some sms gateway API.

what I must do is to send an sms after an event (I am developing a video surveillance system using flex) so I wonder if it can not be automatic. You speak about HTTPService I have to write it in php?! rex thank you for your help

Right you can write sms sending code in server language like PHP. which will accept data from flex application and send the sms. The flex can call the PHP page and send variables by POST request just like submitting a form.
So you must be sending sms to inform the user on some event of video surveillance system like when intruder detected etc. AS soon as your event occurs you just need to call the php page with parameters like what has happened and send the request using GET or POST.Rest should be handled by PHP page itself.

you need to have a sms gateway account which is payed and charges are either on per sms sent or package of sms messages. You can use that account in php to send sms . You can find many tutorials for sending sms using php. Check these few links :
