when using local which webserver are you using IIS ?

the reason could be that locally you must be connecting to red5 server using local IP address or localhost in swf file. But your local red5 IP will not be accessible from your tomcat hosted application. Are your tomcat and red5 server both on local machine ?

Hi Troy,
Thank u for ur instant reply.I am using tomcat and red5 server both on my local system.
I am newbie to java.I developed one test application using eclipse,red5 and flex which are installed seperately.I am building a vedio conference application with flex builder3.0.Initially I tried to build my application with tomcat,red5,flex and Netbeans for java application. But am unable to develop it.Finally I tested my application with eclipse. My java application for red5 is built using eclipse. It is working fine with eclipse. The problem is that the text chat application is built with java using netbeans.I have to embed my flex application with java wich is developed using netbeans.I don't have any idea about java side how the text is built. But when try to connect to red5 server from my client side application i.e Flex, it is not connected to red5 server embeded within tomcat server both are local. This is my problem.I have to integrate it with java wich is built using tomcat,red5 and netbeans.I think u could understand my problem as I am newbie to java. Please help how to my red5 application on tomcat based red5 server.
Thanks
Srinivas

I think the problem lies in the server side java files that are inside your application folder. To be able to connect an RED5 application. You need to have a application folder on the red5 server and the application files (red5-web.xml,red5-web.properties, web.xml, any classes used ) etc.

the application directory is the one that you are using while connecting say rtmp://myChat

the application directory (webapps) will be located inside your red5 installation like below path . Here (WEB-INF ) is the folder which contains the application configuration and classes.

verify if all are there if not then copy from your working application

C:\Program Files\Red5\webapps\myChat\WEB-INF

Hi,
The application structure I have built using eclipse is as:
C:\Program Files\Red5\webapps\demo
inside demo------1.WEB-INF: 2.CLASSPATH file 3.PROJECT file 4.streams
|
1.classes
2.src
3.log4j
4.red5-web
5.red5-web
6.web
The application structure using tomcat is as:
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\demo
inside demo------1.WEB-INF: 2.CLASSPATH file 3.PROJECT file 4.streams
|
1.classes
2.src
3.log4j
4.red5-web
5.red5-web
6.web
The rtmp path from flex is as:
nc.connect( "rtmp://localhost/demo/room1.This is working fine with eclipse.Problem is with tomcat.
The same folder built with eclipse including java files is copied and pasted to tomat server .But it is not working with tomcat instead with eclipse.Any solution please.
Thanks,
Srinivas
